Body material and standard trim
The table below lists body–bonnet materials used by Controtek and the trim (seat, disc, stem) normally paired with each. Trim can be changed – for example to hard-faced or higher-alloy trim – to suit erosive, high-temperature or corrosive service.

How to pick a globe valve material
- Steam, oil, gas, utilities: carbon steel globe valves (WCB/WCC or A105).
- High-temperature steam: chrome-moly WC6/WC9 or forged F11/F22.
- Low temperature: LCB/LCC, or austenitic stainless steel below their limits.
- Corrosive or hygienic fluids: stainless steel globe valves in CF8M/CF3M.
- Seawater, brine, chlorides: super duplex globe valves.
- Strong acids at moderate conditions: PFA lined valves or Alloy 20 / Hastelloy.
